so what you should be specifying here is what work you have had to do on the motor to get you to 120 000km.
Pebbles bike has more KM, but there is not much we have not rebuilt.

Do I have to be honest?
Bought the bike new in 2011.
Had the doo done on 28k by Doc
(spring was broken)
Radiator patched on about 30k and it is still lasting
Valve clearance done on 40k and not again since then
The upper balancer sprocket lost all its teeth on 50k. Had the sprocket replaced and the balancer chain as a precaution
Front sprocket replaced on 60k and then both sprockets and chain on 80k
Steering head bearings replaced on 80k and 100k
Front disc replaced twice and is due again
Rear swing arm serviced every two years
Speedo cable broke twice
A lot of clutch cables
I broke the clutch pin when I replace the clutch cable (opened the cover and replaced it myself)
Water pump and oil seal replaced twice.
I have been monitoring the oil consumption for the past 26k km and it is very consistent on 2,5km per millilitre. I used to put in any oil but since 100k I have only been using Actevo
Air filter cleaned and oiled after every ride
Serviced it myself every 5k
I had one accident, one side stand incident and 4 gravel crashes
Now I will not be able to sell it on this forum

now that is a comprehensive report. Luckily you did not add punctures otherwise this post would look like a book

182000 odd Km, and I had to replace the D606, needless to say, I am very impressed with the mileage I got out of mine.
Found a Trailmax dirt cheap, and it does feel good to corner a bit on the tarmac.
Busy getting my organs ready for a major surgery, she is consuming oil, no smoke yet, but just too much for my liking.
2 days from Randfontein to Centurion and back, oil drops from full to low markers.
Maybe just a new set of rings, otherwise 685 upgrade.....will see what the barrel tells me.

You got some serious value for money. What oil were you using (out of interest sake)?

Abre, I used Motul 5100 most part, at around 150 000 km I changed to the slight cheaper Castrol Actevo.
The last 10 000km I used Shell helix 15w40 as it burnt just too much oil to my liking.
She is in now at Powerhouse Dyno, Raymond Luke, who used to be at Holeshot is busy with the motor.
The oil rings started to align up, and caused most of the oil consumption, and as a result some carbon build up on the valves.
Compression rings were at 11 and 12 o'clock positions as well. I still managed a 24 km/l at 110 km/h.
It sounds like the 685 conversion will be done, I am visiting them this weekend.
Raymond is the only mechanic to work on my girlies the past 10 odd years, never had a comeback or any kind of problems. He was the guy to tell me I ride like $hi* ant that's where I got the mind blowing kilo's on my drive train, discs, pads and tyres. He really knows what he is talking about.
I am looking forward to ride the "new" machine soon, I miss her to bits......182 000 km in 7 yesrs
WOW, what a mouth full....sorry guys, I got carried away....LOL

182 000 is a good innings.
I also used Motul but it was just too expensive and not readily available near me. For the past 50 000km I've been using Actevo which I can get from Midas around the corner. Curious to hear how much better the 685 is going to be.
