Clocked over to 80 000km as I was heading to the Dome ride. Only repairs needed recently was a set of sprockets and a new chain. Original chain nearly made it to 80 000km.

54400 clocked the weeked & the yellow headlight film you sent me holding as good as day1!
Also had to put my dog (bull terrier) out on Sunday (health reasons); after 8yrs and dog 9yrs old it sucked and still does from time to time.

Also cleaned & lubed chain & sprockets: they're still good & dont show any apparant wear signs.

Hey chaps. RevivING this thread as I'm very interested in who has what mileage now and mechanical issues if any. I'm currently on 19 600km on a 2012 model. Oil consumption about 200 odd mm every 1200km or so.

102000+ km's.... first 100 000 kms were trouble free, but then I had to re-do the top half of the motor (piston, rings, valves) due to my "spirited" riding...

Did you have a dropped valve or other component breakage or failure to necessitate replacing all those parts?

Let's do dirty!

And what kind of oil consumption did you achieve over that period?

Have had my 2008 for 3 years, have travelled little over 6000 kms, low due to knee replacement last year.
In the last 4100kms I have replaced 600ml oil. I think this is due to my riding style and me being moerse careful.
Hopefully I can start looking at off road adventures next year

Luckily not... - the bike simply started spluttering on my way to work one morning, and then wouldn't start the afternoon - I thought it was a dying spark plug, or blocked fuel line...
after replacing and cleaning what I thought was the problem, it still wouldn't start - then capeklr discovered a fractured carb diaphragm - as well as a compression test revealed a faulty exhaust valve - further inspection revealed a cracked piston - in two spots, as well as a cracked top - by the spark plug hole....

so, months and 20grand later, I'm running it in again.... I am very grateful for whatever caused the engine to die, otherwise that cracked piston may just have decided to disintegrate while I'm scraping footpegs on the Rooi Els road... :S
