Greetings All

I'm curious on who bothers or needs insurance or even has it? I am insured and am not selling or promoting it. Been insured on bikes for 12 years and cars for 30 plus years. Never claimed but I feel bike insurance is important,

What do you think?

Absolutely. Fell on friday. Bike is being repaired and already received the money (and already bought) for new helmet and jacket. Would be silly to go without it.

I'm happy with 3rd party, theft and fire only.
I think I pay R42 a month.
If my bike is in a crash, I'll probably be better off to just sell it off as parts instead of the insurance giving R10 for my bike.

My first KLR was stolen after I had spent thousands on Farkles, but I had an agreed value and kept all my receipts, so got enough back to build a better bike than I had in the first place.

Chaplain suffered the same fate. Bike on finance and no insurance. He has just finished off paying for a bike that he never rode.

I'm amazed with that price with M&F; in the past they were never close to 'cheapest'/'budget' types, but are very good with payouts apparantly.
Reading of theft: I think i may get a disk lock: R200-R250 odd i think i saw on FlyingBrick.

Thanks guys!

I changed my 3rd party insurance to comprehensive this morning... R80 vs R140! Worth it!

My bike was lock down with a cable running thru the wheels and frame. Park in front of two cars. Well, they picked the bike up and carried it over the two cars. They didn't even bother to take the bike cover off!!! Insurance you ask? Well, a BIG YES from me!!!
