I bought this KLR last month, it was sprayed army brown by the previous owner, something I did not particularly like. So this week I stripped the panels off, took to them with paint stripper and got rid of the brown.

Then using the heat gun trick got rid of most of the white marks, but the panels are still clearly old, so now I am trying to figure out what to do. If I could source original decals for this bike it would not look too bad, but I have searched everywhere with no luck.

So my options are put them back on the bike as is now (which in my opinion is already much better than the brown), respray them with the same colour, or have them wrapped with some funky graphics?

Any ideas?

Dirk

Paint stripper, before the heat gun was applied.

To close off the thread with an update, plastics back on in original format, now to find the original decals.

thanks Dirk, that gives me hope. I have the original plastics and stickers which i want to preserve, hence me getting another set to wrap, paint or hydro dip
