actually in this same thread 2 pages up

Good moring all,

At last, my Speedo is back and installed.
First of all - my ODO works again!!!
Second - this dude only repaired my broken blue gear. Not too sure how long it will last for, but let's wait and see.
Third - the cost for the repair was R500-00. This, I hope, is quite fair when comparing that to the ~R6k for a new speedo.

Anyone interested in getting theirs done - give Peter a call at Instrotechno in Vereeniging. Here are his contact details:
1) 0832293844
2) This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
3) www.instrotechno.co.za/instro-technology...eat-fuel-gauges.html

Footnote: I have done about 80km now with the repaired ODO and it ticks over very smoothly, so I hope it will last. I would, however, recommend that you ask Peter if he is able to source these plastic gears and use that rather than repairing the broken one. IMHO I think it should last longer.

Hope you find this useful.

So after my friend with the three D printer passed away in a motorbike crash, i was a bit desmaid, since he had my spare gear. Then my other buddy Hendrik van Heerden, who i ride with often suggested molding a gear. He use to own a klr c-model, but is actually a ktm fan. At first i was reluctant, but he does not give up easily. And he and google have a really good relationship. So the other day he asked if i could get a gear to try the mould thing. So i took out Monica's bike's gear. It has been replaced in the mean time with no km lost, if anyone was wandering. He came back to me with this (see pic). Made from poly urethane.

I fitted it, and zeroed my counter.

Test run was by hand up to two.

Today's geo run took it up to 96km. Wich is the same as on Rikus bike. Asked him to zero his as well. We will have to see how long it will last though

So my delema is. It has not been running for a pretty bit. Round about 2000km. Would it be unethical of me to. Took work out round about how much i lost and turn it on, or just take it from where it is now. I have most of the distances on gps. The shorter stints i am not going to worry about. What is your opinions
