Best place to service KLR in Gauteng? was created by Jacob77
Hi All! My name is Jacob and it is great to see there is a group for this awesome bike! I am from JHB and have had a KLR before and recently bought another 2007 KLR with 54k on the clock. Must say it is still in awesome condition otherwise. Can someone please recommend where I can take it for a proper service and checkup? The only issue I have with it at the moment is that it struggles to start. Thanks again beforehand and great group!

Welcome.

Most of the guys service their own bikes and by doing so you get to know your bike. It will help a lot when you have a problem while on the road. We do not have a dedicated roadside assist like some of the other brands. Our assistance network works more like phone a friend.

Search the site and ask, lots of experience among members.

Welcome to the family. Hardus is right in saying the guys service their own bikes and every now and then we have tech days to show you how to maintain your bike. As for the issue you currently having, it sounds as if you need to do valve clearance. You can pm Groenie here on the forum

What a day!! What started with a basic service and replacing of shims, ended in the meet & greet of great friends, almost complete overhaul of the bike and a late night of drinking and partying!

Groenie, you are a champ! She goes like a new filly! Thanks again!!
