Drill a series of holes in the top of your airbox under the seat and then duct tape the snorkel closed.

That way if you need a burst of speed you just let a fart go for extra power

I like to drink lots of beer??

Abre, the fuglies suck in just as much dust. I believe the problem is the position of the air-slit on the side cover. It is placed just behind your left leg, so the wind is turbulent going past that slit. This causes a vacuum and thus suction from the rear wheel side.

I've tried in vain to seal the gap to the rear wheel on the LH side cover. Other ideas I've played with (but discarded due to laziness) is:
-to connect a hose between the snorkel opening and the air slit in the side cover
-to add a scoop on the outside of the air-slit on the side cover

At the end of the day it is just 3 bolts to replace the air filter. ;)

Dankie vir jou advies Piet.

I removed the side cover permanently so changing the air filter is only one bolt.
