@ Andy - you might want to consider doing the Wild dogs KZN Bash in August, there will be quite a few Clan members there

Thanks Porra,
Sounds good. Do you have more info on it?

Would love to hear from more Klan members in KZN as well. I have a few interesting rides mapped out that I want to do.

The Bash will be held from 8th - 11th August @ Imvubu Lodge in Richards bay. Accomodation options are as follows:

Accomodation

We have the usual options, as we believe is expected at any bash.

Chalets:
For those who don't want to camp, neighboring the campers is Imvubu Lodge (www.imvubulodge.co.za). It is seperate log cabins, nestled in the dune vegetation, and as you'll see from their website, really world class. We thought their rates would be out of our reach, but they have really bent over backwards to attempt to fit our budgets... or lack thereof!

Option 1 - Standard Chalet. This is ideal for couples, and 1 bedroom with double bed, and is non self catering. R750 per night
Option 2 - Superior Chalet. Has 1 bedroom with 2 single beds, and is self catering, going for R800 per night
Option 3 - Deluxe Chalet. Ideal for guys, has 2 bedrooms, with 2 single beds in each, plus another dingle bed in the TV lounge. It will sleep 5 comfortably, and WD special rate is R1200 per night. They have 7 of these rooms. If you choose this option, and you don't have friends to share with, let me know, I'm sure there will be others in the same boat....
Reservations can be done via e-mail or phoning Karin, mention clearly that it is for the Wilddog bash:

Camping
We have one of the best caravan parks in SA (www.richardsbaycaravanpark.co.za), and they have also given us a very good rate. Our weather is normally fairly mild, so no ice covered bike seats are expected - as we have seen at the last 3 KZN bashes ! Rate is R102 per person per night.
Reservations can be done via e-mail or phoning Michelle, and again mention clearly that it is for the Wilddog bash:

*** There is an interesting alternative here, you can rent a fully kitted caravan, which will be pitched for you. Costs are approximately R400 per day, depending on the options you choose, and it sleeps 3 or 4 guys.

Reservation for your accomodation must be done by yourselves, as was the case in recent bashes.

For any other info, you can call either of the 2 dudes below:

I'm in Winklespruit, riding a NC750x now

Hi Guys,

Collecting my 2009 KLR today. Really looking forward to her....

You should be happy with the "2009" KLR as long as you make sure the oil is always toped up. Check it before every ride. My 2008 KLR did ± 100k km without issues and used some oil.

If the KLR below is your "2009" KLR then somebody made a mistake as it is a 2008 model

Does probably not really matter, it will get you where you want to go, and I don't think year will make much difference as far as spares are concerned. as long as you know it is a gen 3  :S
