Hi Guys,

Actually been a member for a couple of months now but just did not get around to the introduction :pinch: .

Well here goes..

Been riding for some time - Wouldnt say i am much of a fundi when it comes to bike riding at all and would place myself in the beginner class if you can call it that  but i sure do like to learn as much as i can hence joining the forum.. :silly: and learning from most of you advanced riders out there..

I recently got myself a 2012 KLR 650 B) and never looking back since.. actually enjoying the heck out of it, low maintenance and very reliable - Was not sure in the beginning what i was actually looking for until i saw it, low range torque when ever you need it and more than enough grunt out of the gates for n beginner ADV rider. This is really a bike i enjoy riding - My Boet is also an avid rider but prefers the faster life on a R6 and having driven the R6 myself just couldn't find the comfortable factor on it as that of the KLR. I have also been on a couple of runs in and around the Vaal and Parys with him and some of our other biker buddies and the bike compares fairly well even though it is not a Superbike and comfortably doing 130 -140KM\h with the crew has not been an issue at all.. the plus factor is that I can go where most superbikes cant and that is more than ever the most beautiful spots in the country..

Anyway guys, thanks for the awesome site hope to ride with you guys soon and read more of the awesome trips and tips..

God Bless and Stay Safe

Welcome here. 130 on stock klr is a achievement. Reckon it is how you feel about high rev's. As long as you enjoy the ride. Most important probily is the doohickey done. Seeing as you ride in the vaal area you are in gauteng area . Yes a pic of the bike would be nice. Then we know who we see

Nice to have you on board.

Do you have standard sprockets 15/43 or maybe bigger up front or smaller on rear? Friendly advice keep an eye on your oil because they like to use oil at high revs.

You lucky to have lots of guys with KLR's up that side so join some of their rides.

Watch out for Porra

Thanks Guys, Appreciate the friendly welcome..

Will upload a couple of pics during the day-

Keith to answer your question ..Yes 130 is somewhat of an achievement but also to add this was only done once to see what it could do..I really dont like pushing her that hard nor driving that fast at all..more the cruising or veld adventure type (Actually i think it was most about proving a point LOL) This doohicky thing ...I seriously dont know, even if i knew i am not even sure where i can take it to be checked.. Vaal triangle area..
